Dean's List Recognition Even FAQs

  • This is a casual, come-and-go celebration where students have the opportunity to meet and be recognized by their college dean. There is no formal program—just a welcoming environment to honor academic achievement.

  • Students are encouraged to wear casual or business casual attire that reflects the celebratory nature of the event.

  • Yes! Students can take photos with their dean, fellow honorees, and even Boko. Multiple photo stations will be set up throughout the UEC for memorable snapshots.

  • Yes. Beginning Fall 2025, the university will launch Merit Pages, an online platform that highlights student achievements and shares personalized recognition with families and communities.

  • Yes. UEC concessions will be open during the event, offering food and beverages for purchase. Additional refreshments will be available at Sewell Park following the event as part of family weekend.

  • No. T-Shirts will no longer be distributed at the event. This decision reflects a shift toward more meaningful and lasting recognition items.

  • Students will be honored with: 

    • an official notation on their transcript, 
    • a college specific Dean’s Certificate distributed by their college, 
    • and, if applicable, a 4.0 President’s Pin.
  • Student Involvement and Engagement has organized additional activities in Sewell Park. Enjoy the moment. You earned it.

  • Your Merit Page is a personalized online profile created by your university to highlight your achievements, involvement, and milestones throughout your academic journey. Think of it as your own digital resume that updates automatically when your school recognizes you. Once you sign up, your page will continue to update as new achievements are added. If you didn’t get the email or can’t find it, check your spam folder or contact us for assistance. 

  • You can park in any of the following lots near the University Events Center (UEC):

    • Lot P14 – Located near the UEC and often used for large events
    • Lot P8 – Commonly designated for event parking
    • Lot P9 – Offers easy access to the stadium side of campus
    • Lot P10W – West side lot with walking access to the event venue

    Keep in mind that Family Weekend is one of the busiest times on campus, so parking may be limited. We recommend arriving early and making plans to walk from your parking spot to the event. Comfortable shoes and a little extra time will go a long way!
