Dean's & President's List Recognition Event FAQs
-
What is the Dean’s and President's List Recognition Event?
These events are casual, come-and-go celebrations where students have the opportunity to meet and be recognized by their college dean and university president, depending on their award.
There is no formal program or set structure—just a welcoming environment to honor academic achievement. Each semester, we work with campus partners to create a unique experience. -
Is there a dress code?
Students are encouraged to wear casual or business casual attire that reflects the celebratory nature of the event.
Some colleges have college specific t-shirt's to celebrate the achievement, and those look great in photos!
-
Will there be photo opportunities?
Yes! Students can take photos with their dean, fellow honorees, Boko, and President Damphousse if they've earned the President's List. Multiple photo stations will be set up throughout the venue for memorable snapshots.
-
Will there be digital recognition?
Yes. We recognize our students through Merit Pages, an online platform that highlights student achievements and shares personalized recognition with families and communities.
-
Will food be available?
Concessions are often available through the partner events the Dean's and President's List Recognitions are occurring with, but food and drinks are not provided as part of the recognition events themselves.
-
Will students still receive Dean’s List T-shirts?
There are no longer university wide t-shirts for Dean's or President's list achievements, but some colleges still provide their own, unique t-shirts. For information about those, contact your college dean's office.
-
What will students receive instead?
Students will be honored with:
- an official notation on their transcript,
- a college specific Dean’s Certificate distributed by their college,
- acknowledgment through Merit Pages*,
- being listed on the appropriate section of the Dean's and President's List page*,
- and, if applicable, a 4.0 President’s Pin.
*note: we don't publish any information for students who have a confidentiality indicator on their record, and can remove names from all platforms if requested by the student to do so.

I received an email about signing up for my Merit Page, what is it?
Your Merit Page is a personalized online profile created by your university to highlight your achievements, involvement, and milestones throughout your academic journey. Think of it as your own digital resume that updates automatically when your school recognizes you. Once you sign up, your page will continue to update as new achievements are added. If you didn’t get the email or can’t find it, check your spam folder or contact us for assistance.
