Explore proven strategies for academic recovery and the benefits of a proactive, strengths-based approach to bouncing back. This session emphasizes social support, resource utilization, and a commitment to growth during academic challenges.
This session centers on Perry’s model of intellectual development, offering insights into why college learning can sometimes feel frustrating. By exploring stages of intellectual growth, students gain a deeper understanding of their own learning process and learn strategies to embrace complex, diverse perspectives with confidence.
Learn how to view failure as a valuable part of the learning process, developing skills to assess setbacks constructively. This session explores how embracing “effective failure” can lead to stronger problem-solving and greater self-confidence.
This session challenges the idea that resilience is purely an individual trait, emphasizing instead the social and structural context that influences students’ ability to bounce back. We’ll explore resilience as a collective process shaped by community, power dynamics, and support networks, aiming to empower students not just to adapt but to engage in ways that foster social change and justice
This presentation provides an in-depth overview of the Bobcats Bounce Back (B3) program, designed to support students overcoming academic challenges. Attendees will learn about the program's key components, including personalized strategies for success, the unique B3 approach of "Bring to Light, Balance, Build," and the resources available to aid students in their journey. The session also highlights inspiring stories of resilience and practical tips for making the most of the B3 support network. This presentation is intended primarily for staff and faculty, as well as graduate student organizations and classes.
